Introduction:
The LITU ward is located on 2nd floor and has 8 active bed in separate rooms and also one isolated room. All the patients with acute liver failure disease that need emergency liver transplantation, are hospitalized in this ward before being transplanted.
Ward services:
Continuous monitoring of patients by advanced equipment with the constant presence of an anesthesiologist (ICU man) is done in this ward.
Personnel/Physician:
This ward is under supervision of Dr. Reza Nikandish. Moreover, 17 personnel work there including 11 nurses.
Ward equipment:
Including central monitor and patient’s room monitoring, dialysis device, portable monitor, Philips DC shock device, Pico device, patient crane, kymograph device, ventilator, syringe pump, pace maker, portable ventilator, cerebral status monitoring, vigileo monitor and ambu aview. It should be noted that all above equipment, even blood sugar device, stethoscope, and nurse’s desk is for each patient particularly.
Future Perspective:
Training of nursing staff and improving their performance in order to increase the ability of performing better patients care in the intensive care unit and also increase the number of active beds in the ward, are the future plans.
Ward recommendations to clients:
Patients should visit the ward only during visiting hours and avoid contacting the ward during the night shift for the well-being of patients.
