Introduction:

Cardiac surgery ICU started in 97/7/1. It includes 8 active beds. There are two isolated rooms in the two sides of the ward. The right side of the ward opens to the heart surgery operating room through which patients after surgery are directly transferred to ICU.

Ward services:

Different surgical operations including: CABG operation, AVR, PVR, MVR, TVR operations, bentall surgery, heart transplant surgery, ASD closer operation, aortic dissection surgery, myomectomy, sub-aortic web, taking care of patients who have balloon and hybrid redo surgery are done here.

Personnel/Physicians numbers:

Dr. Masoud Shafiee, cardiac vascular and liver transplantation surgeon and Dr. Mohammad Purmontaseri, Cardiologist and are this ward’s specialists. Moreover, 29 personnel work there including nurse, receptionist and assistance.

Ward equipment:

Each unit is equipped with monitor, ventilator, electronic bed, central suction, pump syringe, pace mixer device, pump balloon, blood gas, DC shock, auto cardio graph and capnograph devices.

Department recommendations to visitors:

• Use gown and shoes cover when entering the ward
• Meeting patients is possible as previously agreed with the director of ward. Being aware of the patient’s health condition, please call the ward instead of over-crowding at the hospital
