Introduction:

The Gastro-Intestinal ward is located in 6^th floor and has 18 beds. This ward provides services to patients with liver Cirrhosis and Gastro-intestinal bleeding problem.

Ward services:

Providing pre-liver transplant care including relevant consultations about echocardiography, lung, kidney, infectious diseases, nuclear heart scan, neurology, endoscopy, colonoscopy and psychological activities. Moreover, pigtel and pneumocath insertion, abdomen pelvic sonography, abdomen CT scan and if needed, abdominal tap is also done.

Personnel/Physician:

The ward’s head is Dr. Ramin Niknam and every 10 days, the ward is rounded by one of the specialists including Dr.Ghasemi, Dr.Eshraghian and Dr.Fereyduni. Moreover, 28 personnel work there including 22 nurses. It is noteworthy to say that a general practitioner is available for 24 hours a day in the ward.

Ward equipment:

Including syringe pump, suction, portable and non-portable monitor, wavy mattress and glucometer.

Future Perspective:

Providing ventilator device for ward.

Ward recommendations to clients:

To avoid overcrowding in the ward, each patient should have only one attendant. Also, observing health care for the isolated patients is compulsory.
